Hey girlies! Sorry for not posting earlier, was busy with volunteer work + work. But anyway, here's the update! The best thing is to do after assessments is to go shopping right? So I went on a rampage literally, starting with TANGS to Inuovi and Watsons. And I finally got my TANGS card haha.

What I've bought from TANGS:

1. MAC 217 (The brush that I've been waiting for literally eons to buy.)
2. Chanel Mat Lumière in Cendre + Sheer Illuminating Base (Finally got my HG foundations products.)

Then from Inuovi:

3. D27 Disco
4. D27 Hype
5. D27 Jade
6. Metallogy 06006 Tin

Watsons:

7. L'oreal Super Liner 24H Waterproof Gel Eyeliner in Black (Love this! Really long lasting power~)
8. Nivea Visage Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipers (I think it's cheaper than usual during the time I got it.)

And the rest are from online:

9. MAC Pro Pigment in White Gold
10. MAC Paintpot in Pharaoh
11. Stila Gel Cheek Color in Pink Flush
12. Stila The Talking Palette
13. Maybelline Shiny-Licious in Jam-n-Jelly
14. L'oreal Color Juice in Catch Me Salmon
(Who thinks these names seriously?!)
15. Stila Loose Eyeshadow (I've no idea what the color is, but it's a shimmery.. grey purlish shade.)

And the Vichy Normaderm samples are from a magazine that my mum bought. Ah, so I'm officially going on a makeup ban. Really can't afford to spend on anymore makeup if I need to save up enough to buy presents for peeps.

And my NOTD, Color Club Revvvolution. Sorry if the picture's not up to standard nor does it shows the awesome holographic colour. It's been raining heavily these days and it's near impossible to take them under good sunlight hrmph.

The color is just brilliant. Application is smooth, literally opaque with one application. But I smoothed on two coats, along with two coats of Sally Hansen Diamond Topcoat to be sure. But, it chipped at the tip the next day, which is just heartbreaking. Oh well, it's nice while it lasted.

The reviews that I promised will be up daily starting from tomorrow. Have fun dearies!

Just how generous Maggie can be right? So you just have to be a follower of her blog, answer the questions given and voila! A chance to win that fabulous palette.
So here are my answers to your questions, Maggie!
1) What is your most prized possession?
I believe that will be my DSLR, Canon EOS 500D. Not because it's frightfully expensive, but all the good memories with my family and friends are usually taken with clear precision with this baby. And rather, these will be my most prized possessions  in future, because when I'm old and forgetful or when I'm down, these will the things to perk me up and to remember all that love that has been showered on me.
2) What is your definition of beauty?
My definition of beauty is that it's something that you're born with. It's natural and it's uniquely yours. Beauty can be enhanced with makeup or mature with time. And to achieve that, I don't think that going through going through cosmetic surgery is really a must. All in all, one should just learn various different techniques for the best view offered and just be satisfied with what they have!
3) What makeup item (Brand and name of product) would you recommend to me?
Hrm, a tough one. But I guess I'll stick to Benefit High Beam or Moon Beam. I dare not to be a judge as to which colour will suit you more, but I think this may be an interesting product for you to try out!
4) What is your favorite KIND of makeup item and why?
That will have to be the eyeshadows. I always prefer doing the eye makeup as compared to the rest, and I felt that much creativity can be witnessed via different usage of colours, layering and blending etc.
5) A weird factoid about you. :B
Ahem, I like to pluck my hair when I'm thinking or stressed. I know it's a bad thing to pluck it by the roots, but I just can't help it. It's lucky that I've a thick head of hair, or I might just be visiting the local haircare centre really soon!
6) What is the fondest memory of your childhood?
My paternal grandmother who used to pick me up from school when she was still staying with us. She has walked on to a better part of the universe now, and I miss her loads.
7) Describe yourself honestly.
I am a perfectionist and I usually strive for the best. But I also tend to give up when things do not move smoothly, or do not move as I planned. It's really the good and bad side of a coin. I hope I could manage to change the bad side in future though!
8) Tell me something I could do to improve my blog.
It looks all right to me! But maybe you may want to widen the main blog part entry and stick to just one sidebar, so as for more comfortable viewing of blog entries. But then again, this is entirely just my two cents.
So ladies, the giveaway is until the November 29th, at 11:59 EST. And the link is right here:

Have fun everyone, and cheers!

HIATUS

Hey dearies, as assessments are around the corner, I'll be heading off for two weeks to concentrate on pummeling them. I'll be posting reviews and photos after my assessments as usual. Here's a sneak preview of what will be coming up.

Cheers! Have a great weekend everyone!

October Haul Part Two

So here's the second part of the haul, partially from drugstores and sg_beauty. I'm just itching for the day where my TANGS vouchers will arrive so I'll have more reasons to tear my wallet apart completely, with my dad's credit card of course. Ahem, I'll just wait patiently for that day to arrive!

Right, so onto the items starting from the left:

1) Sally Hansen Gel Cuticle Remover (um, enriching your skin with kiwi and jojoba extract)
2) Everyday Minerals Eyeshadow samples in Hoppity Hop Hop, Cotton Tale, Greeting Card
3) MAC Paintpot samples in Painterly and Rubenesque (The coverage is just wow! Side note, I got Painterly from x_beanie. Check her out if you're interested in the samples!)
4) Revlon Pinch Me Sheer Gel Blush in Peach Afterglow (mightly interesting!)
5) MAC Paints in Bare Canvas, Shimma and Mauvism (Got them off used. It'll be really interesting to compare them to paintpots.)

So yes, more reviews to go but I'm very sorry to announce that most will be done one month later, for that's when my assessments end. So bare with me ladies, I promise to work hard on them during end of November!

P.S. Does anyone knows where I can get those 5g jars? I've got a few things that I want to depot into them. Cheers!
P.P.S. Does EDM has this odd smell? It's my first time trying them out and it probably sounds stupid, but I just want to confirm, thanks!

Stila 24k Charmed Eyeshadow Palette

Right, this is dedicated to the lovely peachesandsha. Hope this will spark you off in getting some Stila eyeshadow palettes, they're really worth the money! The images are slightly bigger then shown, so feel free to click them for a bigger image if you like.

The palette when it's open. There's probably a metellic strip lined along the bottom of the palette to keep it shut at all times. The four eyeshadows are housed inside. If you wish to depot them, it'll be quite a headache to for I believe they're glued to the palette. Anyway, the palette is quite sturdy and is less liable to damage the fragile eyeshadows within if one doesn't do anything drastic, e.g. dropping it on the floor. And ignore my fugly thumb, I just nuked the nail during the critique not too long ago, sigh.

Back of the palette. And without further ado, onto the swatches!

The pale beige strip underneath the eyeshadow swatches is the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Potion Primer. But it's obvious in this photo that the first three swatches (teal, golden brown and rose pink) are awfully pigmented! It's really too bad about the last one, which is a darkish purple. Thankfully it's salvageable with the UDPP.

Another picture. Can you guys see the golden flecks?! I think I'm going to swoon. The teal is definitely my favourite out of the lot, with the rose pink chasing hot on the heels. The rest are still pretty though, no doubt about that.

Will you guys just. look. at. that. The effects after smudging the golden brown over each colour. Look at it over the teal!! Just about became the next duo chrome colour that I'd swoon over, be it over my nails or eyelids. I've definitely got to try it out on someone soon!

Now all I want to do is to get more Stila eyeshadow quads. The local Sephora really need to bring in this brand! Along with NARS, Illamasqua and a truckload more of awesome makeup goodies!

Geisha Illustration

This is a old piece of illustration that I did for my last year project for Design Process. I was supposed to make a clock at the end of it, and it was done similar to this, except that the rest was done via papercutting and watercolours.

My inspiration was taken from both maiko and geisha's unique dress senses and codes. I was also fascinated with their ornate details on their kimonos, and all that churned into this particular piece. I won't really count this as a fashion illustration, but it's probably the closest to what I have now at the moment. I will try to do more after the assessment though!

NOTD: Eternal Optimist

Not feeling so terribly perky these days with stress over an upcoming critique and much worries over my beloved DSLR. It doesn't read cr2 images as it did before, I wondered what went wrong with it anyway..

Thus I decided to apply Essie Eternal Optimist on my nails. The dusky rose pink did a small wonder to pick me up for the day. At least I'll look okie dokie for my critique next week. Application with this is albeit weird though. The formula is thick and doesn't really like to spread around with the tiny brush that Essie provided. It's a fight to put them smoothly on the nails. What you see now is 2 coats, along with Sally Hansen Diamond Topcoat.

Off to finish my artworks now!

October Haul Part One

It's from a recent spree with Estella. She's a fantastic organizer who replies promptly and does things real efficiently. So much better than the previous one that I've joined (with regards to Egad, Bad Memories!).

Right, starting from the left is:

1. China Glaze OMG (A holographic silver)
2. OPI Give Me Moor! (A vampy cherry)
3. OPI Here Today, Aragon Tomorrow (A dark forest creme)
4. Essie Eternal Optimist (A tanned pink creme, no really, it's darker than the image portrayed above)
5. Color Club Revvvolution (A black holographic)

I'm really drooling over Revvvolution. Really, it's my pride and joy of the month. I believe scrangie has some fantastic photos in her blog! This will be left to the last for application. I'm not all that hyped up over Eternal Optimist though, kind of regretted buying it in the first place now ha. But yes, I shall leave till the day when I actually have to apply a pink creme or when I can swap with someone else.

Did I mention that blingness of the holographic polishes? It's really worth an 'OMG'! I think they might just be my next new love, sigh.
